Using The Text Editor
In this section we will be covering the following topics:

The Interface
This section will briefly discuss the text editor's interface.  Our text editor works much the same as most other text editors with the exception of having some extended features such as on screen text encryption.

The image above displays the built in time and date window for the text editor, with the new text alignment and bullet buttons.

This is the toolbar for the text editor.  All file and editing functions are handled here.

The above image displays the new Rich Text buttons.

The above image displays the new pop-up menu for the enhanced Text Editor.  Now users can control almost every feature from the keyboard.  To activate the menu system, right click with the mouse, or press F9 on the keyboard and use the arrow keys to navigate.

This is the on screen encryption text encryption that sets our text editor apart from any other.  Magically watch your text become scrambled right on the screen.

Special Notes
This section will cover some important issues regarding the text editor.

  • The encryption methods used by the text editor are very weak.  These methods are in no way a means of security.  These methods are provided as a quick method of scrambling.
  • If you want a secure method of scrambling text, the Secure Email utility provides on screen Blowfish encryption which is very secure.  If you want strength, give it a try.  You may also encrypt files using the Blowfish method by running the Blowfish File Security utility.
  • The text editor will not save your font and background color settings with the file.  These features are provided for printing text documents with different fonts and the background color as a way to see what text looks like on different colored paper.
  • The text editor is provided as an enhanced version of the Notepad type text editors.  Our text editor is now a Rich Text File application in the way MS Word or Word Perfect are.  We have redeveloped the enhanced text editor to handle a multitude of file types as well.  Our text editor defeats Notepad in many ways.  One important note is that you may now load huge text files without the worry of truncated text.
  • If you encode text using method 1, you must decode that text using method 1. If you do not decode using the same method as you encoded with, the text may be lost forever.
