Using the Base 64 Interface

Firstly, Base 64 encoding is not a secure means of encryption.  Base 64 is a means of scrambling information for email transport.  Some characters cannot be displayed in email at all, and/or sometimes it is desirable to send email in Base 64 to avoid certain email keyword scanners.  For this, Base 64 encoding is perfect.

The Base 64 interface is split into two sections.  The top section encodes and decodes text files, while the lower section allows you to encode and decode text right on the screen.  The interface is set up for self explanatory usage.  One important item that should be mentioned is that Base 64 encoding should only be trusted on plain ASCii text and not binary information.  Binary files may be corrupted if encoded and then decoded using Base 64.
